The Valencia College Lake Nona Campus was constructed in 2012 and was in need of modernisation. The project included state-of-the-art academic spaces, teaching labs, student services, bookstore, library, cafe, a Dean’s suite and administrative offices.
The 88,821 ft2 campus was a $21.7 million project.
By installing NPBITM technologies on campus the College hoped to avoid large capital expenditure on specifying larger equipment, whilst at the same time use a system that would maintain and clean HVAC cooling coils.
They also wanted a solution that was effective in eliminating pathogens, bacteria and mould in large facilities.
Following installation of the GPS NPBITM system the Valencia College were able to reduce outside air intake for ventilation by 9,300 CFM and saved $180,000 in chiller costs, in addition to avoiding expensive renovation costs. They were also awarded 3 Green Globe certifications by the Green Building Initiative and post install testing revealed that there was no Fungi or Bacteria detected on the cooling coil fins.
